Getting to the wedding on time

FLY TO ITALY: easyJet, Ryan Air, British Airways, and Alitalia fly regularly to Rome, landing at either Fiumicino (FCO) or Ciampino (CIA). Neither airport is closer to Lake Bracciano than the other.

DRIVE TO THE LAKE: Both airports are approximately 60 to 90 minutes away depending how Italian you drive, and how Italian the traffic is at the time. We recommend hiring a car, you will find multiple operators at each airport, as it will allow you to explore the region (find out what is so great about Lazio here). The drive to the lake is relatively straight forward, but it can be easier to do in the daytime (there are no street lights on the lake roads, and there can be fog in the evenings). If you are coming late at night, note that the car hire desks at CIA do not wait if the plane is delayed vs. FCO where they do wait. Please note that you will also have to let your Accommodation know if you are intending to arrive after 19:00 (they will be there to welcome you, but only if told in advance).

An airport taxi transfer to the lake will about 150 euro one way, and will require advance booking. Let us know when you RSVP if you would like a taxi provider.

BUS TO OUR EVENTS: We will be helping get you to and from our events by bus if you stay in the centre of Anguillara Sabazia or Trevignano Romano, or the two larger hotels listed on our Accommodation page. Each of the three towns on the lake will play host to an event so you can see the sights. If you need help choosing between the towns, find out more about the area here. We will contact you nearer the time about the bus arrangements, simply let us know where you are staying when you RSVP.

Alternatively, if you choose to stay in the centre of Rome it is about 50 minutes to Bracciano in a taxi, and companies in the city would be willing to take you. Just make sure you pre-book the return journey, there is only one taxi company on the lake with 4 cars!
